It has come to my attention after being directed to several other FTO videos from 0-132 etc (from trying to youtube 4g63 fto  ) That everytime i see an FTO climb the speedo, it it insanely slow (hyperbole here) to climb through the revs. Im looking at them thinking i would shifting at 7.2k by the time these guys are climbing to 5k and i honestly dont know wtf it is.
I have always suspected there was something slightly faster about my car (probably just my superiority complex kicking in here) over standard mivec FTO's, but im seriously starting to think now that more has been done to my car than i initially thought.
It was stated that only the exhaust was done when i got it and ive only since put an intake and a few other things (which wont make any kind of REAL difference i guess) but i think something else has been done that wasnt put up or i wasnt told about. Never met the owner either  he was at work when i picked the car up off his mother, so i dunno.
When i take it in to get its service next week i think im going to have to get them to check just what has been done.
Is there anything you guys can think of that would cause (what seems like) a considerable throttle response increase that wouldnt be noticed from an initial inspection of the engine (without taking it apart etc)
Could it be larger throttle bodies? flashed ECU or something?
Im going to have to post up a video of mine (when i can get my damned computer to recognize my HTC again) so you can have a look =(
UNLESS every other video on youtube is stock crap or something i dunno :?
Would be nice to find out that a few more things have been done to mine that i wasnt aware of - bonus for me

EDIT*
Uploading to youtube now, 10 more min, stay tuned for a link

Im going to go ahead and call it now though, probably just me, and mine is s**t like the rest of them

If it was your revs id say it was a lightened flywheel

It does seem to crawl the revs faster than some of the others ive seen - all the others seem to really struggle past 6-7k where as mine has no problems and doesnt slow down at all until it reaches 210-220 so i dunno, will be revealed when it has the inspection i guess

My fto ran pretty smoothly up to 140mph and would take some time to get past 155mph

Eh maybe it is just me, but my car definitely climbs faster than most others on youtube, and seeing as how mine has nothing that would really improve it that much i just got thinking. Ill have to take a proper vid on a flat surface lol that was intended to be a sound recording but my phone cant record sound for s**t and all you heard was the wind rumbling past - wtf was i thinking

OK so in my usual delirious 3am thoughts i remembered something about my car that wasnt suspicious until now i have this paranoia
These 4 screw holes now that i think about them are getting more and more suspicious.
They are really noticeable here because of the flash, dont even notice them when driving and actually forgot about them so theyre arent as bad as they look
Wtf was mounted there? Why was it taken out?
Couldnt be a turbo timer/boost controller - id know if the car was turbo at some stage, think that would of been mentioned (mind you i have a feeling a few more things werent as well :? )
Stupid and illogical place to put another cup holder - do they even sell ones that screw in anywhere?
What gets me is why it was removed and i wasnt told about it.
Too much 3am paranoia for me :x
Has anyone seen something like this before? Everything i can think of it being is either illogical or impossible - surely one of you mighty brains can figure it out :P
I am going to have to get this car torn apart and put back together to see if there is anything hidden that i might want to know about :|

p.s. loving this direct upload feature - much better than that uppload to third party and link crap - thanks bennoz

My guess is that it was mivec controller. Turbo timer only delays an ignition shutoff.

What about a hands free car kit?

I have never seen a turbo timer, or Mivec Controller being that big...

hmm most hands free car kits you dont screw into the car lol, and still thats a big car kit, usually they just clip onto the visor - doubt it was a rally car lol but hey i dunno it is very odd :?

Think about it .. The car is .. 97-98 ... They did not have bluetooth clip on hands free kits then ...

Every old hands free kit required you to drill into the interior plastic to mount it ... And over in Jap land, they have all these weird and wonderful holders and chic sh*t that they sell ..

Hell, I even saw a rice bowl and chopstick holder that filled in the grove on the Evo I-III grove on the dashboard...

Car kits are mounted to the dash, they are chargers as well. What you are thinking about is a Bluetooth hands free kit.

HAHAHA now thats convenience!
Hopefully thats all it is rock_it  nothing seeeeeems to be out of order. You would just think that you would leave it in if you drilled a damn hole in your car for it, least cover the holes and keep the convenience? i dunno.
There are some strange people out there though so who knows!

It's more responsive because of less weight from no shoes.
