hey guys need help with my tappets as i know they tend to get very loud and noisy over time but i want to know what would be involved in adjusting them and can they be done with the engine warm or does it have to be dead cold

Anyone out western Sydney way experienced with this and feel like a) doing it for a case, or helping me out with it one weekend?
In the meantime I might just do an oil change to shut them up for a little while
