Hi guys,

Is it ok/safe to degrease and high pressure wash the FTO motor?
Especially with the MIVEC plastic cover off.

If not, what should I be covering?

Thanks

I would always cover altenator and anything electrical ...

On old cars that would include distributors.. In newer cars, it is the spark plug/coil set up, as each spark plug maps to a coil pack ...

I haven't looked under the cover to see if it would cause any damage though ...

I've washed and degreased my engine a couple of times...

The only thing I really avoided getting wet was the pod filter... Maybe from today on, i'll avoid the alternator too...

Go for a drive before as well, softens up any grease.

+1 - a hoist and a spray bottle of brake cleaner is your best friend, takes 10min tops
