FTO AUSTRALIA

Just wanted to let you all know, i'm in WA at the moment on a 3 month deployment.
I've been thinking about cars and my FTO and thinking with the extra coin i will have from being over here i could get a few presents for my car when i get back.
Seeing as my girlfriend dumped me i don't need to waste any more money on her (she never liked that i spent money on my car anyway...)
So was thinking of getting
-extractors
-ecu + tune
-ac needs something done to it...(got quoted 500-1000 to get it fixed...i'm not there atm but that's what dad told me...)

So if you can give me advice on a few things.
-extractors what is a good price for good ones and horsepower increasages.
-ecu what price would i be looking at or is the stock one fine and what horespower increases (i haven't had it tuned since i put my cai in so what difference would that make also)
-ac....dad got it checked out because its been making a lot of noise and not spinning all the time. So the ac guy quoted 500-1000 to replace or get checked make sure no metal bits in it??? I have nfi what he is talking about.

Anyways guys, i'm keen to work up my fto again. The passion has been re-lit.

Anyway,

Extractors - either rpw or hurricane. about $500 for rpw's or $600 for hurricane. Another $100-200 to get it fitted.
Both are similar.

Ecu tuning - none tried flashing their stock ecu here. so i'm guessing it can't do sh*t or a waste of money.
Famous option is to go haltech platinum piggyback ecu cost about 600 bux and another 700 bux for install and tune.
Only get this done after you've your full exhaust installed.

All of the above would give you a max 10-15kws or so, if you're lucky.

As for A/C. Sounds like the compressor shot.
Get a few more quotes. Nevertheless, you're gonna pay big money unless you can replace it yourself and source the parts from wrecks.

Yeah i was reading updates to AJ's HKS thread and it made me realise how much i still love FTO's haha.
Hmm ok, that sounds good. I think i'll just get a few more quotes then get the AC fixed unless someone else can.
Who else can second the ecu haltech piggyback? Would i get another ecu and the haltech or just the haltech on stock?

It's a piggyback so it works together with the stock ecu.
You won't need a standalone aftermarket ecu which costs a hell lot more on the unit itself as well as the installation and tuning, end up min. 4 to 5 grand which is totally overkill for just intake and exhaust mod on NA.

Aza and dstocks got the haltech plat. installed and gained a healthy 15-20kws boost on top of other mods.

Why does everyone always say a lower price than how much it actually is?

Hurricanes are $600 if you're lucky, at RPW, you still need to pay for postage...
Installation can cost something like 300~400.. I know - I paid that much - it's a 3~4hr job.

Chris, get your exhaust system finished first(extractors, high flow cat if you dont have one yet), then your haltech interceptor. Also, for more spare cash, buy a Quaife LSD from RPW

Also, manual conversion.

if you do all that, you might get UP TO 30KWATW
