FTO AUSTRALIA

Hi guys,

Just thought i'd let some of you know (who had asked at the meet) that I have now put my white/blue dials into my FTO.

It wasnt hard, just very fiddly! Looks fantastic. I had some blue
"sleeves" over the original bulbs in the dash and although im sure its not as clear as ruchi's LED mod, it still looks awesome at night!

My only concern is the fuel guage - i am a little concerned that it was moved during the installation and has now frozen...but i will soon find out after doing some more kms.

If you guys want pics - ill try post some at night and day.

NOW to decide whether to fork out for the dial rings to complete the look!

I've been told about the fuel gauge. It is actually a myth that moving it will make it incaccurate.

It will automatically adjust itself accordingly... This is how it works when you put petrol in. It can detect the level of fuel and adjust the needles.

I accidently moved my fuel gauge needle when putting my dials on. It adjusted itself as soon as i started the engine.

Yeah i was looking at getting this done sometime in the near future so it would be great if you could post some pics, cheers
I was gonna do the whole blue LED change aswell for the CC and other lights.

thanks mate - im just sure that the needle is a little high for how much petrol i put in - I think possibly that i put the black tape around the post to tight - which would stop it from spinning freely - however I will soon find out after a few days of driving and seeing if it moves. I didnt think touching it would effect the needle, as all the others work fine.

I will take some pics today / tonight so you cans ee where i am up to. How do i get them on the site though?

The only problem with the blue sleeves is that it stops the orange needles from glowing as much - that would probably be fixed with white leds though....

where can i find these LEDs for FTO in sydney??? anyone guys????

hi guys - have pics (the flash is so good that you cannot see the blue light though!) it cut out all the lights from the dash and also the neons in the footwells! DOH!

Hey, one quick question about the dials, my centre console, has the oil temp and VAC gauges... are their any dials for these?

i dont know - i wouldnt think so

basically i got "clock" & battery" for centre console

and then all the other dials for the dash area.

Hmm.. does anyone even have an oil temp gauge and vac gauge as part of their center cosole?

I do think, they are much more useful gauges then a clock and battery, but it wouldn't look write, having the dash white/blue and the centre console black...

All of the dial sets ive seen for the fto only come with clock and volt guages, that said i know that changin those guages to vaccuum and oil temp was quite popular at least in japan so i figure there has to b some floatin round, hunt around and c what ya can find

what happens if you pluck out the needles all together???

you dont need to take them out mate...
soo, dont.

just squeeze the dials over the needles.
