I went for functionality over bling.

They have a good sized baffle inside them.

It is completely sealed but the internals should look like this:

Code: Select all

    ------|
    ----| |
        | |
   |----| |----|
   | | | |
   | | | |
 --- | | |
        | | |
 --- | | |
   | | | |
   |@@@@| |@@@@|
   |@@@@| |@@@@|
   | | | |
   | |
   | |
   | |
   | |
   | |
   | |
   | |
   | |
   |----| |----|
        |-|
Where @ is the baffle.

I will do a full write up about what I am doing and why when it is complete, but to answer your question, they are used to reduce the amount of oil that goes into the intake system.

Either back into the sump or keep in the can depending on how you hook it up.

It stays there until you empty it.

These catch cans have a tap at the bottom, by opening the tap you can empty the can.

You can plumb it back to the sump but that is a lot more effort.

Would you be able to cut the rubber pipe that connects to the sump and put a Y-pipe in?
