FTO AUSTRALIA

Man i am glad the forum is back up i've had no-one to talk to about my fto

So after some rapid accelaration my fto has been idling really badly. When i stop at an intersection when the engine is warm it idles at like 300 or just completely stalls. from what i've been reading i'm pretty sure its the stepper motor.
How do i solve this? do i need a new one if so how much and where from? or can the one on it now be cleaned and fixed and how to do that?

Yep I would say stepper, you can get new ones off eBay. Prices well you can sometimes find them for around $180 but the standard price is $215.

If you search FTO on eBay and do an advanced search world wide there is one being sold from Essex (UK) for $165 Australian then postage.

Talk to mr dwayne stocks he can get you one for a reasonable price OR... Hit up pick and payless look for a magna.. or a lancer ES (i think) and undo the intake pipe... then undo the 2 screws that hold the stepper motor in ... put stepper motor in pocket and walk out... goldy and i did this .. LMFAO..i may even have the one i pocketed because i didnt end up needing it.. but i probs wouldnt trust it ... lol. I have no need for it now that i dont have a FTO anymore... since mine got totalled on fri night.

Yes yes, I know there is an FTO one that costs 215, but this one fits the HJ Galant which is what we can also use.

I'm getting the exact same issue,

but I'm moving interstate in 2 weeks, so guess it rules out eBay for me.

The one in my link is in Aus, it is $115, and it is the one that solved my stepper problem... What more could you ask for

i figured it'll be at least 10 business days to ship from overseas, and i'll be out of Adelaide and off to Melb by then. And no address in Melb to post to yet

don't think i'll get time to fix this till I get to Melb >_<

Maybe you can buy a spare one from someone here?

Or go to wreckers and look galants with the mirrored GR engine. Those will fit the fto's.

Or if you look at the ebay link in my post, theres a list of mitsus there that the stepper fits on, then find those mitsus at the wreckers and get the steppers.
