H guys, I have a 94 non mivec manual and when driving home this arvo it got stuck in 3rd gear. was not hooning and there were no noises. the gear lever will move back and forward but not sideways.
would appreciate any help or ideas

gear selector cable maybe? (Ben seems to know more about that)

Yeah most gear selection issues arise from a weak bracket on the top of the box where the selector cables connect.

Not hard to swap out or repair.

Ah k. They're a pain in the ass to source these things. Try Panelhouse in Slacks Creek would be my first call.

Alternatively we have a member here (dstocks) who can get them direct from Mitsubishi Japan. Its a wait, but they're brand new.

Aside from that, start ringing wreckers. Sydney Auto Dismantlers down here in Syd might have some.

If its tiptronic, I have 2 or 3 of them actually (cables).
