Need help diagnosing issue ..

I haven't started the car for about a month after the alternator died.
Tried to jump start it today so I could drive it to the mechanic but it wouldn't start.
I attempted to remove the alternator, the alternator belt wouldn't loosen when I turn the tensioner bolt (next to the oil dip stick).
Could it be the battery is all juiced out that's why I couldn't jump start it?
Thanks in advance for any assistance given.

The battery is probably dead.

When I left my lights on and the battery died I couldn't jump start it. I had to hook the battery up to a charger.

Something like this would work assuming your battery hasn't had it.

Did you loosen the tensioner pulley first?

That I haven't done lol. Will try again this weekend.
There's not a lot of room to play with under there. I think I need to invest in a higher lifting jack.

You can't jump start a car with a dead alternator! Give you 20 minutes of driving time with a full charged battery.
