I seem to be being dogged with annoyances, I arranged to see an FTO tommorrow , this one actualy just in case anyone knows it--

Long and short it failed it's roadworthy needed some globes and there was a caliper issue--what the issue is I'm not sure.

Experiance tells me that if there is an issue with 'a' caliper it's likely leaking and that there is likely issues with it's other three mates just round the corner.

Are caliper "issues" common in 95 GPX 's -- wouldn't suprise me they're 17 years old-- and how expensive is the fix likely to be.

Are replacement calipers available and where from and how about repair kits are these avalable and are kits for calipers this old going to be any good ?

I don't consider this a deterent to purchase so I'm still going for a looksee tomorrow but I would like to know what difficultys this caliper issue might raise.

Any and all advise will be gratefully received and absorbed .

You can get kits to go through them. There is a revamped set on ebay atm (although a bit exe to my mind). 2nd hand ones arent that hard to come by, so can probably dig up a set fsairly easily to replace.

They are the same calipers that were released on a bunch of other Mitsubishis, Evo II, III & some models of Tritons. The rebuild kits are cheap & readily available.

Did they say whether the caliper was actually leaking or just not functioning correctly? 9 times out of 10 its not the pistons, its the slide pins that seize up.... even easier fix, pull them out, lube, re-assemble.

Thanks for the replys, not a mind numbingly costly excercise then, just nuisancesome.
I am not sure what the issue is ouside of 'a caliper' malfunction, I will know more tomorrow, so I'll post when I know.
