OK,

So before i go ahead and tinker and probably do something i shouldn't, how do you open up the front light box?
I have some LED strips waiting to put in and i want them to go inside the light box at the front, but it doesn't look from where i am that it comes apart easily.
So any help or directions as to how to do this properly would be awesome.
I already have some shorter test ones i've wired in between the box and the front bumper, so id probably do the same and piggy back them straight off the parkers through the socket where the lights pop through into the box.
I guess any suggestions to mount them to the bottom of the box would be preciated too, if someone has done this before. maybe a bracket or some kind of adhesive?

The lights are glued together. You need to soften the glue to take the clear plastic off the rest of the light. Remove the lights and put them in an oven on low heat for 10 - 15 minutes to soften the glue. Don't tell your missus/Mum. Do whatever mods you want to the lights, then put them back in the oven to soften the glue again and put them back together. You might need to add a bit more glue.

Make sure its a Fan-Forced Electric not gas otherwise the flame wiill burn your light

Id probably recommend using some silicone or something clear to stick them on.

Do a search for the DIY to open the Headlight.

took a whole afternoon to put them in. I really couldnt be f**ked taking the bumper and fender off to be able to take out the box (the bumper at the very least it wasnt coming out otherwise) so i managed to just get apart the top part of the box enough to get the insert out and Araldite the LED's down n stick it back - LOL the last guy who had it put angel eyes in the same insert, and instead of gluing it back he used several thousand tonnes of blu-tak to stick the light back together
While it did the job i mean come on its blu-tak, and was easy enough to seperate the bond and take the cover off but meh, its all done, wired in and beoing enjoyed. Looks wicked.

that looks pretty good...but the trade-off is they might die prematurely they are in the same enclosure as the main lamps due to heat.
Not recommending for day time driving lights as the sun can kill them real quick.

Looks good dude, and don't worry they are fine to use as DRL's, i used my ones on my FTO as DRL's and they were fine.

No, don't think it should - i have not noticed any difference at all before n after, the high beam bulb is in the middle of the insert, about 5cm above the LED's, so its not in front of the bulb.
Also, the LED's aren't raised enough to lengthen the point in which it first hits the road - if that's what you mean, because the light hits the front of the car before the top of the LED strip, but only just.
Not fussed if they did, they look too good. That and i really cant be bothered to re-open the box and replace them, so i hope they don't die!
I would do a DIY guide on them as there is none in the DIY forum specifically, but i didnt take the box out, nearly broke the cover i reckon i stretched it a bit far, and it was held together by hardened blutak and not the conventional glue anyhow, and my brother wired in the original test lights that went between the bumper and the bottom of the box because i really couldn't be bothered fiddling in the extremely tight space he had to work with

you installed the leds inside the head lamps as well? if they were installed as foggies, thats ok.

the fact that the halogen bulbs can get so hot in the enlosure that LEDs just cannot tolerate it. I tried using LED parker lights and they failed real quickly.
