Hello peeps,

If I want to mod my FTO (for the first time), at which section should I start investing on ? Have no idea at all about car mod, please teach me

Preferably starting off at the cheapest section to the most expensive one. Someone please be my mentor, I can cook

Are you looking for performance or looks?

For performance mod NA route.

- Intake mod (pod intake + CAI pipe + shield box) = $300+
(custom pipe, hks mushroom, silicon joiners, clamps, duct pipe for CAI, DIY shield box)
Or, UAS pipe if gpx.

- Exhaust mod
- extractors incl. Y pipe (rpw/hurricane) = $600 ex. install
- high flow cat 200 CPI = $200 ex. install
- high flow muffler (x-force varex) = $400 ex. install
- 2.5" mandrel bent mild steel piping + few silencers/bullets = $800

- Engine management/tuning
- haltech interceptor = $650
- installs & tune = $700

- Weight reduction + aesthetic
- Carbon fiber vented bonnet (AB style) = $1100
- Carbon fiber boot lid = $800?
- Light-weight rims/wheels = $1000

Plus, little things like light weight 0w-30 fully syn. oil , iridiums spark plugs, magnecor leads.

Below are for serious sh*t $$$.

- Engine mod (reckon you better off get a VTEC YO!!!!! YO!!! if you're gonna do below)
- lightened flywheel
- oversized throttle body
- port & polished heads
- wild cams
- adjustable cam pulleys
- bore and hone block (or throw in 6a13 2.5litre block if u got the dosh)

- Suspensions & handling
- BC racing gold adjustable coilover - $1300 ex. install
- front & rear strut brace, underbody H brace, whatever braces from Whiteline for FTO
- GTO 4-pot brakes upgrade

For BOT (bolt-on-turbo) route.

- Take out the above Engine mod and change the exhaust piping to 3".
- Fork out $7k and get Simon's/I8EURYXXYZ's bolt-on turbo kit

For Engine conversions route.

- Fork out $20k for 6a13TT conversions.
- Or, $30k for 4g63T conversions. (might be less if nothing f'ked-up, and skills to do some of the work by yourself.)

Ahh, i missed Ragnarok online during my high school days!!!!

Anyway, some notes for TS to understand better.

*CAI = cold air intake.
*CAT = catalytic converter.

Engine mod
- lightened flywheel = rev. faster
- oversized throttle body = breath better
- port & polished heads = smoothened out, runs better
- wild cams = aggressive cam profile
- adjustable cam pulleys = adjust degree/cam timing (retard/advance)
- bore and hone block = more cc displacements.

Assuming you just want basic mods. So i'll list the cheap ones.

First thing is air intake = Bigger intake pipe, pod filter.
Pod Filter around 70-110$ for a 4 inch pipe. 4 inch is the best one you can get as it lets the most air in so highest performance. Silicon piping will cost you $130.

Exhaust, just get a catback, cost you around $300.

This is a start and very basic starting mods.. after that from the list posted above, extractors + downpipes + hi flow cat would be next = around $2000 installed tops.

For look:
1. Read my post on Rez's post about automatic door popup...his car ain't bad either...except those VS2 side skirts... they remind me of the time I had to watch babysitters club with my cousin...don't do it. I suggest Kaze aerocraft bodykit...it's pure pornography! Google it.

2. If you have lots of Sir John Monash rolled up in your pocket (100 dollar note, for those who are ignorant), beside from my previous post to Rez, multi spoke 19" wheel (no chrome unless you like to listen to Snoop Dog and smoke joints with your pothead mates), gt spoiler (carbon preferably, assuming you have already carbonize the bonnet and trunk), LEDs, shade windows beyond legal limit unless you look like heart-throb Zac Efron, custommize view mirrors, 2 x 12" subwoofer with led lights on deck

3. Get your gf or a girl with potential to be gf or just any decent looking girl on the street with the potential to be a part time model/cure waitress to ride with you to the beach, pump up the good music - and by that i mean no celine dion's "power of love" or Nsync's "it's gona be me" crap okai - I recommend Usher's "in the club - part 2"

4. Congrats, you're now badass mo**er f***er - guys at that beach will be like: "damn, the mf got attitude but nice riceburner car nevertheless" and the gals will be like: "he's different...cute though". You see, I just help raise your sex appeal by at least 5 points...assuming your above average looking, you're 10+ already...that's spanking the monkey level mate!!!

Now, if you're concerned about smoking other drivers at the lightss...continue to read

btw, what so good about VTEC YO!!!!! ? and isn't it VTEC YO!!!!! a NA engine ? If I install turbo onto it, wouldn't it be a pain in the ass if I put it on VTEC YO!!!!! because you will have to maintain it well which includes tuning and to name a few? But I want a turbo haha, which engine conversion suits best as a starter ? 6a13TT conversions and 4g63T conversions seems too much. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Look in the turbo section, or use the search function. This is one of the most commonly asked newbie questions.

As far as turbo-ing goes, unless you have a sound knowledge and are able to do lot of mechanical work yourself (more so to fix the constant problems which will arise from throwing a turbo in overtime) I wouldn't bother.

And yes, it IS expensive, don't jump straight into it
