You're welcome to borrow my engine crane for the day if you want, just need it back in the afternoon, gotta pull the engine out of the half cut this weekend
I'm in Carlingford. Let me know.
PS: Just make sure you bring rope to tie it down securely

Step 1: Install engine
Step 2: Drink from Keg.
In that order!
Enjoy fellas.
Would help, but Lawso knows why I won't be there.

Actually I might see if I can get my engine out tonight, then you can have it for the weekend. Mines all ready to go just need to undo the engine mounts and lift er out.
Ben, quick question, I can just lift the entire engine and gearbox out together? I don't have to remove the gearbox first?
Thanks.

To be honest mate, it's a whole lot easier to lift the car off the motor. Then just slide-walk the whole assembly (engine + box) out from underneath.

hmm, have to have another look, in my case the halfcut is sitting on a trailer, so I could drop the engine gearbox to the floor but then I'd have to lift the halfcut and trailer over it, could be interesting...
No doubt there will be plenty of swearing involved either way
PS: That reminds me, I need to go get some more bourbon

Well my engines out. Ended up taking it out through the top, was going to be too much of a pita to lift the trailer and the halfcut over it on my own. Was pretty straight forward though, once the engine crane is hooked up, unbolt all the mounts and drop the bottom support bar/crossmember. The only thing I didn't do that in hindsight I wish I had was remove the alternator, would have made it a bit easier to manouevre, but yeah pretty straight forward.
