Brakes seized?

Not sure what is happening. Hope someone can enlighten me!
Noticed a couple of days ago that my brakes weren't releasing properly. When starting off, and when coming to a stop, I could hear a sound coming from the rear wheels like when you haven't released the hand brake properly. I also noticed I was pulling up a bit faster than what I would normally. When I got home from work that night, I checked the rear brakes and the right rear disc was glowing bright orange!! In an effort to try and work things out for myself(and I don't know much), I followed a previous post by Storm on how to check and fix sticky brakes. After loosening off the hand brake, I as able to remove the first pin(it seemed fine) but was unable to slide the caliper away from the disc. It seems to be clamped quite firmly on. Both of the rear brake pads are sitting on the disc and do not appear to move when pushing and releasing the brake. This problem seems to have started fairly quickly. What's going on?
Thanks, Scott
