Is it something you can do yourself?

Whats required in the task?

When you bore it out do u have to get a new blade/butterfly thing?

Comments are appreciated :)

Yes you need a new butterfly and it would be better to get a pro to do it as they have the right machines to do the job.
But then if you have one sitting around doing nothing give it a go.

I have a complete 63mm bored throttle body that I would be willing to let for $300 if you are interested.

What is the standard throttle body bore diameter?

60mm although I believe the GPvR ran a 63mm.

Hmmm, if that's the case the gpvr should produce a little more power than the gpx but spec sheets all say they produce the same. :?

Was the GX (Facelifted GR) that ran the larger (63mm) TB.

I think it would be a lot of f**king around for a few millimeters. Better to look at an aftermarket throttle body, maybe a 90mm would be nice

that would be a bit of a waste cos the hole on the intake manifold isnt that big is it?

haha, yeah I think 90mm would be massive overkill for an FTO (except Ben's lol)!

But yeah 70mm would be nice, but yes this is only part of the problem. You would need to match the intake manifold to the new throttle body to get maximum benefit, and then ideally you want the entire intake manifold assembly port matched and flowed. It's on my list 8)

Does anyone know of any aftermarket throttle bodies that will bolt onto the FTO manifold?

jesus christ, is there anything you can do to any FTO to improve power without spending at least 8K. *sigh* makes me just want to go get a skyline or something.

8K? What you want it gold plated as well lol!

Did a quick google, apparently RPW do exchange throttle bodies, I'll email em later and ask, possibly can match the manifold as well. The throttle bodies they had listed were under $200.

Here you go, modified manifold and throttle body, your choice of 65mm / 70mm / 75mm = $545
