FTO AUSTRALIA

Okay, first post on here. :S

Looking for my second car, and wanting an FTO. Heading down to Homebush on Saturday with a mate to check this one out:

Single lady owner since imported in 2001, hardly driven and serviced every 10xxxkms by a 'friend' who is a mechanic - no logbooks to prove this, however. Garaged its whole life, very recently replaced alternator and battery. Few scratches in paint, but no damage/wear on interior and no dents in body of car. Rust free (thank god!), and everything supposedly works perfectly (well, except the cd stacker, but hey...)
So heading down to Homebush on Saturday with a friend to check this car out. Got a bit of a checklist (which I got off here, actually), about specifically buying an FTO. Of course, there's a few things that I know to look for, and quite a few MORE things that my mate knows to look for, but neither of us are mechanics, so we're clearly no experts.

SO.
Hoping to get the name of a good, reliable mechanic within the area that I could get to check out this car? Probably some time next week, if I like the looks of it and am genuinely interested in buying it.

hey,
look for rust underneath at the rear of the car its common, as well as in wheel arches
make sure the heater works and doesnt smell as this can be a leaky heater core
look for knocks in suspension when going over bumps as this can be costly later on
if its a GPX make sure it can rev upto 8000rpm after its fully warm (approx 5-10mins)

check for tapping ( mivec need to be adjusted as there not self adjusting )
engine mounts
oil leaks
water leaks ( mostly at water pump )
air con works ( meaning check the canister top right and that it works in the car )
check clutch ( when car is in nutral my car makes a noise from the bearing )
starter motor


looks like its in good condition though ( seats not worn consol not snaped and stock sterio and cd changer )

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be sure to check all of that out.
However I'd still like to take it into an ACTUAL mechanic.
No matter how much I personally check the car out, as I said before, I'm no expert. I'm certain that a mechanic will pick up 10 times more things than I will. So I would like to know some recommendations of any mechanics in the area that anyone might know?
