Hey, my front tyres are wearing heaps on the outside and they have on every car i've ever owned. Obviously this is due to hard cornering. Is there a setup for camber or toe in/toe out that would be street friendly given my driving style? Can i do it myself so when my tyres wear to much on the inside i can also adjust myself?

Btw i mainly drive 15 mins 12 times a week, 30 mins twice a week and hours once every month so tyres probably dont get to hot.

you'll need some pillow ball mounts and camber adjustment bolts to have a play with the camber. Run 1.5-2 degrees of negative camber up front and maybe around 1-1.5 in the rear and you'll be sweet.

Also make sure to keep your checking your tyre pressure regularly to make sure the wearing isn't from poorly inflated tyres. If you have low profile tyres you should be running around 36-38 psi

^^^^^this???^^^^^ do u think this will help? also going to take my car to wintonagain at end of year just for fun day so itl b hot probably. i want a compramise between track and street but how hard is it to adjust these bolts and install them? i guess just jack the car up and there hopefully in an easy place to get at yeah?

and do these bolts do front and rear?

Ive heard camber bolts loosen up over bumps and change their adjustment. not sure though.

Have a look at K-Mac camber tops, you can do camber and castor on them.

And also rears have adjustment already, on the rear you can adjust toe and camber and the fronts only have toe adjustment.

Wear is 95% of the time tyres get worn because the toe is out, camber wear takes a long time unless your running like -6 or something crazy and skidding up.

Call Whiteline & find your local distributor, they also don't have to be 'FTO specific' - just give em the length & diametre you need.

They are only for the front. The rear has camber adjustment by default. Its the 2 adjuster bolts up under the rear muffler.

I've had these ones on the front & they did move around, however in the end, I locktite'ed the bastards in & they stayed put.
Shane uses them on his race car thou & they've never moved.

my fto handles a lot better now that i got new sway bar bushes, made heaps of difference (roundabouts sure are fun several times in the early hours of the morn), those $50 ones off ebay. i guess being that my old ones were screwed and 2 of em were half out because i couldent get them off 1 opther time(had 2 nuts on the half undone ones so they wouldent slip off).

had to angle grind 1 of those swaybar links off, tryed a crowbar, jimmybar and heaps of pipes but it the nut wouldent come loose and the ball kept spinning (mivec)

may adjust the rear for now 1 day and see what i think and how it affects tyre wear, would a tyre place do this in a wheel alignment in the price? i know u cant balance the wheels yourself without the machine but can u so the rest of the stuff they do in a wheel alignment yourself?

I wouldn't try it at home. When you adjust the rear camber, that alters the toe settings without knowing it.
The more neg camber you give it, the more toe in you'll add.

thats a link to the rear sway bar bushes if anyone's interested, there a tiny bit thicker but maybe a little bit lighter and they have a 17mm nut on the end insted of factory 14mm, also have another nut u can get a spanner onto to tighten and loosen nut.

^^^^would this be a waste of time and money? i dont need something serious, it dosent look very strong but i have messaged other ebay users that out it on their fto and there happy with it, thoughts?

i think the strut bace will solve the tyre wear problems as the body wont flex inward at the front as much

Do you have the dimensions??? 12mm is coming to mind for some reason. 60-70 seems to be the average cost for 2 pins? What should it cost?

All cars wear on the outer edges first as when you turn a corner the wheel will lean in the opposite direction causing wear.

yeah i know, wanna reduce this though because its really bad and their only new tyres

well then theres obviously a problem. your out of alignment.

steeting wheel stays dead straight and dosent even shudder the slightest and the wheels and tyres are only a couple of months old

doesnt matter if it stays straight. ive lowered my car, had new tyres and havent gotten an alignment and i def know its out and it stays straight

hmmm might be worth looking into, i think ill lower it first though, i remember last time i got an alignment theres like a $50 and a$70 job depending on how many things are adjustable, what 1 is the fto?
