My Car Is Possessed!

Post by Nacho »

After a long time procrastinating I finally pulled my finger out and put the engine back in the car. Just a couple things I need help with so feel free to throw some ideas out:

1) Even with the key out of the ignition....I've still got 5 lights lit on the dashboard even with the door closed. Lol I've disconnected the battery so won't go flat.

2) More importantly....she won't starts. I've got the multimeter out and I've got sparks from the plugs and power going all the way to the fuel pump connecting. Checked plugs after cranking and still got dry tips so no fuel going in the system.

Any thoughts? Anyone?

Disconnect the fuel line somewhere (before fuel filter) and crank car over, is petrol coming out?

No, disconnect fuel line at the fuel pump and crank car over?

Yes move to the fuel rail and do same thing. Is fuel coming out?

Thanks guys I'll do some further troubleshooting on the weekend regarding the fuel line......actually the hollow bolt that connects to the the fuel filter......I've had a look at the screw and wondering whether that has to be at a specific angle to let the fuel through?

As for the lights.....from memory it was:

Left bank (top light and second one down)
Right bank (top light and second one down)
Middle (just the light around the P 'Park')

I don't know if they mean anything......what I'm more distubed about is that these lights stay on even when the keys aren't in the ignition anymore.

Yeah, somethings gotta be plugged in wrong there

That big bolt on the fuel filter needs to have those slim brass washers, one on each side of it..

So will the gaskets make too much difference in blocking flow? Or does it just prevent leaking?

I've found the torque settings, no-brainer but will the torque setting correctly align the bolt holes to flow through the fuel line? Also, the part I've circled below, will that let in fuel regardless of where the 2 holes on the eye bolt are facing?

Sorry for the 20 questions but I'm hoping I don't have to take that apart coz it's a bitch to get to.
