Going to KL and London in 4 months, flights are booked but it is a long trip 8hrs then 13hrs. I am looking for a media player, something I can copy some of my movies to, to watch on the plane.

Some of you know I am not a apple fan AT ALL!! But after doing some research the Ipad is looking real good with 10+ hrs of continous battery life. I really dont want to buy one but if anyone else has any other ideas for or against it would be much appreciated.

portable dvd player
psp
lap tops dont last to long mine says 2 or so hours with out the charger
ipod
ipad
mp4

all depends on how much u want to spend and if you want a big screen or small

my psp go lasts 5 hours or so i thinks
im sure you wont be awake the whole time on the plane but ipad would prob last the longest and have a bigger screen

Yeah money is not a huge problem. My laptop only gets 2 hrs of battery life so that is out. I have traveled with a portable dvd player before but only got hrs out of that battery life as well and having to carry around the dvd's is a pain in the ass. I like to travel as light as possible.

Thanks Shhtuart but it will be too small as the misses will be wanting to watch at the same time

No worries ;)

In that case, if i were you, id be either going down the path of a netbook or the ipad.

Personally im against anything apple plus the fact of finite storage and non swapable battery.

Whereas you could pick up a netbook with 250gb storage and removeable plus an extra 6 or 9 cell battery for less than the price of the fagpad.

A 6 cell will get you 10+ hours easy.

Just my two cents.

Im personally running a lenovo s10e and its been perfect for well over 2 years

Acer are poor quality and you need to send the unit back to basr for lengthy repairs.

Dell, asus, hp and lenovo would be your safest bets.

I bought a asus 1000h a few years ago and its brilliant, still works great, not one issue and gets 6hrs on its stock battery. Add a 9 cell battery and you'll get another 9hrs or so. Its seriously the netbook equivalent of an army tank. The screen hinge is thicker than Bens big penis

Would highly recommend it or others in the 10" asus range if your after something durable and reliable.

Netbook with 2 big (6 cell) batteries. Charge them both up before you go and swap them when the first goes flat.

sorry was meant to say *arent really good for anything else other than media playing.
they are handy because of the fact that there are 100000 million sites that stream movies and tv shows for them. but apart from that there is no real benefit to have them imo. anything they can do a netbook can do better.

^^^ This get 2 batteries, will do you fine, and if your REALLY paranoid just get 9cell batteries. That'll definitely do it.
Keep in mind, even though you plan to, you will probably get over watching movies after... a few
