stupid question but how do you set the idle
its sitting at about 2000rpm on cold and 1500rpm on warm

Should never have to set the idle, ECU does that for you. Sounds like you've left a vacuum line off somewhere or tightened the throttle cable bracket up too tight...

Good tip to remember
Don't tighten bolts when the engines hot
I sorta forgot and snaped one of the throttle cable bracket bolts =( wasn't thinking at the time ay owell

Funnily enough, Im up that way quite often over summer. Got a caravan at Lake Macquarie.

Yeah, once you've reset the ECU, it will stall & f**k around till you drive it around for a few hours. It has to relearn how to idle.

If it doesn't, then there's a good chance that if your stepper was old & weak, then the battery reset may have killed it.

nar stepper was replaced few months back
its idleing fine now its just sorta laggy like driving at 60 it will sorta jolt like it loses power for a split second just randomly happens
no engine light comes on so dont know what it is , its annoying but prob better then having massive idle
