Has anyone on the forums tinted their tail lights with tinting spray?

Seeing as the Project F ones are an unlikely option...

If you get pulled over you just turn your lights on and you can't tell lol. I got RBT'd a few times with them and no one said anything so..

his are really dark, and it's actually impossible to see his indicators on a sunny day (I know, cos I followed him all the way from gold coast to coffs)

but with that said, you can always take it off relatively easily if you dont like the darkness or pattern

@yang it's not easy to get off if it's on real thick and has been on there for a while!

i tinted my front, side blinkers and mirror blinkers on my old rolla didnt have any issues
but if the police noticed he would have some thing to say about it would prob cop a fine if hes a dick but most would prob just give you a warning if you act dumb lol

shhtuart, it depends on how dark you want to go.

A old member on here taught me a better of doing the tinting rather than just directly sparying it on the lens.

What I did was remove the tailight from the cra, unplug the looms, remove the bulbs until all you have is just the tail light. Remove the two screws then put the tail light in an oven at 150 degrees for about 5 minutes. At the stage the glue should have melted and the tail light lens pops off.

Spray the inside of the lens. I did 5 coats and it was pretty dark. I reckon 3 coats and you get a very nice "came that way from factory look."

Plus if you do get pulled over cops cant just take a fingernail to your lens and scratch it off.

Bushido, i bought some smoked tinting film designed for taillights but ill do the baking method so i get a good coverage when i apply it.

Tail lights are all about safety man. Tinting it will greatly reduce the reflectance of it, not just the light from the bulb.

I tinted my talilights today with the vht nightshades spray can,i only put two coates on and it worked awesomely and even with two coates on it still looks pretty dark but not dark enough to get in too much trouble.

Wooooh!

Tinting arrived in the post today and it too an hour to apply.

Best part is that its like contact so it can be taken off and reapplied as needed.

Holy hell thats soooo dark, any pictures with your lights on!? Did you have to cut the film to size? Looks like you did a good job!

Looks good but you should leave the reverse lights,if its just a film then it should be easy to trim off.
