Ok so this sunday i'm doing a biggish service on my car. Using.

Martini Racing Oil 0w-40. Wanted a nice 5w-30 but couldn't fine one.

K&N oil filter: part number hp 1006. Now shame said that this was the 1010 which doesn't exist? He even showed me the book and told me thats its the 1006. Only has 6 holes in the bottom though instead of 8. Hmmm weird. Is this acceptable?

Replacing fuel filter with a ryco one. Will be a bitch of a job.

Topping up brake fluid.

Trying to figure out why samco hoses keep leaking and top up coolant.

Hopefully all this should get it running top notch! Fuel filter will be f*ed. Anything else i should do check? Car has done 172xxxkm's so yeah thanks!

I think the 0W-40 would be to light for the car.

I have used and always believed the K&N Oil filter is the HP1010. I don't know if the 1006 will also work.

I got mine through AutoBarn I think.

This site seems to list the z411 (Coopers and Ryco) as equivalent to HP1010, which would support the idea

but he even showed me the book and it said fto 6a12 hp 1006 i saw it with my own eyes? I'm using my phone at the mo cos i'm at work so i can't check the links. Oh and is the oil ok as well or? Is it too light?

I would not go lower than a 5W-30, castrol edge full syn is what I use and I found it to work well.

I've looked online and there seems to be lots of people using a 0w-40 in their fto's...

With the oil filter i'm going to go to another place and double check it. I'm just confused cos i saw the book and part number and yeah. Hmmm...

0w-40 is pretty low but it will be fine for you tasmainians

Ok after a quick look around today and questioning i found z411 filters with eight or six holes. I asked if there was a difference and they said no because it depends on the internal build of the filter. So putting one with 6 holes wouldn't matter?

I did not even know how many holes there are! The mainstream filters are fine. I have been using 10W40 grade oil for the whole life of my car, and no issues and no leaks after 200000kms.

I think mine was as bad maybe even worse than yours. i cut a slit into into it and all you could see was sludge and this brown sh*t \kept coming out.

Old oil filter had 6 holes too haha so Hp1006 is fine for the fto.

Oil is running sweet no tappet noise eengine seems to be running very smoothly on this stuff. Nice deep blue colour as well haha

OMFG the fuel filter was a bitch.

But now she starts first go and doesnt seem to struggle. Having a shower then taking her for the first drive.

Hope to see some noticable improvements!

How much was the Martini oil?

Doing my fuel filter this week, did plugs yesterday, set of Iriway9's for the track

Tossing up whether to go magnecor leads or not? The stockies still test OK. Is there any real benefit in changing the leads?

The martini oil was $74 for 5 litres. Feels like quality stuff. Very smooth running.

Sigh i have a fuel leak. From the top bolt. Its such a bitch to get at. Will have to fix it tomorrow night can't do it now. But revs throughout the range better. More low down torque. More responsive!

If yours was anything like mine you will probably notice a big difference. I had trouble braking at the end of Bennoz' street such was the difference this made to the VTEC YO!!!!! uleh rating.

haha mines made more difference down low. the torque is insane now. really gets you going somewhere.

I still have to tighten my top bolt its leeaking argh so frustrating.

Oil and oil filter wise seems as though they're going great!

Thats why I relocated mine....Now its f**ken easy, I dont even crack a sweet however I do crack a beer
