Alright listen before you all start whinging about the search button....yes I have used the search button and I've also spent a good amount of time (aprox 2hrs) researching but I'm still puzzled. Only thing I've managed to gather is I'll need aprox 3x 1L.
I own a 1995 fto GPX which is manual. I want to replace the transmission oil.
What oil do I need? Mid priced please. Nothing overkill as I'm on a pretty tight budget.
Main reason is I think it's due to be done and there's also some minor gear grinding from 1st to second to 3rd.
Help appreciated.

depends on whether you have an lsd or not.
castrol syntrax 75W is pretty good.
I didnt like how it made my diff noisy so I went back to penrite limslip 90. Its a heavier oil and takes longer to warm up but its good for my diff.
So you I reckon the syntrax. But any similar oil will do.

Asked a mate to get the castrol syntrax 75w90, came back with penrite sin 75.
Autobarn now closed. Gona fill her up, and if this sh*t is putrid I'm not paying him the $40 he spent on it.

Done and done. Easy job.
Took her for a spin. It actually isn't too bad to be honest. For $40 I'm pretty happy.

Yeah the syntrax is good, but does make the limo diff clunk. I just chucked in some friction modifier & she's been good since

well I hope it doesnt break down and your gearbox internals decide they would rather be externals

If its not too bad, that means you re not entirely satisfied?
You can try to fortify your existing oil by adding Nulon G70. Its less than $15 per tube for 125ml. and its track tested by my mates.

Race track proven, SIN 75 is not the right oil for our gearboxes. Not good for the synchros.
