Hey a friend of mine recently bought an fto and after driving it i noticed that the volt meter would go from under 12v to over 14v after
a few minutes then go back down.So is the alternator f:cked or is it the volt meter. Thanks

nah she's fine.
when the car is on, it will run at about 13-14 volts because the battery is charging. of you turn the car on, but don't have the motor running, look at the voltmeter then. thats your true batter level
guys, correct me if i'm wrong (which i most probably am)

alternators can be expensive and a PITA to replace so I would get a multimeter onto the battery before relying on the dodgy in car volt meter.
