Hey,
Think about getting one from Bunnings just a cheap/medium priced one. I have my air tools but it's a pain in the butt to use and its bloody noisy. I did a bit of research in impact drivers and they would make working on the car a lot easier.
Anyone else have one? Are they noisy? They don't seem that noisy on Youtube!
Thanks!

Yes I use one almost evey saturday and they are very handy. Definitly not noisy, not as much torque as air rachets, rattle guns etc but still surprised me with the torque they do have. The only drama is the amount of spots you can fit them as aposed to say a air ratchet.

Yeah they are, I brought a Panasonic kit by far one the best products I have broght. Cost $600 for a cordless drill and a impact driver bloody bargin.
I brought 3 for work, hitachi, panasonic, and makita. The makita didnt last a year, the hitachi we have still got but only just and has to be back twice for repairs. The panasonic is still going strong and thats why I brought one for home. Make sure you get one with li-ion batteries it will last so much longer especially for the home use when you dont use them much.

How many NM is adequate? I think 500NM is pretty good. How many NM is required say to remove a wheel nut?

500NM is very good
i have an SP Tools air impact wrench which puts out 660NM and that is more than enough, on the FTO ive taken the main hub nut off with a 450NM gun, though that was a snap on...

Damn I need to read boxes before I buy things!! Ended up getting one its 320NM and the thing takes bolts off like they are lose. Wheel nuts come off no worries.
Thing is I left Bunnings but just ready three things on the box. Impact wrench and 320 NM. Start driving home and there are no batteries and charger included. Go back to get it get home to charge the thing and I got a bloody car charger instead of an AC one! Think the weekend is catching up with me.
Happy with the purchase and have no clue why I did not get one earlier!!
