Fujitsubo Giken Exhaust + extractors on car...power gain?

Hey ive got a exhaust syetem im installing on my FTO which is made up of extractors, mandrel bent 2.5" piping, high flow cat, 2 resonators and a fujitsubo giken rear muffler.

wondering about the power gains and increase of the sound.

http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail ... 8/00000612
theres link to a site that i translated that shows the exhaust and piping i have(not including the extractors) but shows extremly minimal increases in db and power gains.

being that there's 2 resonators would i be looking at much extra power/noise if i were to remove 1 of them and which 1 would be better to remove for a deeper sound (dosent have to be too deep). ie. closest to motor or furtherest?

i have everything already and am part way thrtough installing. i have removed my whole exhaust system and manifold and i have bolted the extractors on and will finish everything 2moro.

any opinions or anyone that has done this before that knows what results i can expect or can awnser any q's ive asked?

thanks
Brenton

1kw atw gain mate.

JK :P

Expect around 10 kw atw gain from a full exhaust on an fto.

If it were me, i'd see which resonator was direct/free flow and use that one (without looking at your pics because i'm too lazy).

Oh, and probably say byebye to bottom end torque.

wouldent i get a better torque curve? and being that the normal system was 2.25" and this 1 is 2.5 (but mandrel bent) and specifically designed for the fto would i still loose torque?

by direct do u mean not near and bends in the piping? and that 10kw was that taking into account the extractors also? i kinda figured the old cat may hvae been blocked making it lose even more power and allowing fgor larget power gains.

when car was stanbdard with no bodykit i only ran a 16.1 second pass. i now hvae my own CAI setup, enclosed pod filter and (not enclosed intake but larger and smooth bends) and a veilside bkit. what times do u think i could acheive with this?

i think you might run 14.5 to 15 time's pass,as you ad enclosed pod filter and (not enclosed intake but larger and smooth bends) and then add weight with veilside bkit.looks good though, just it takes power to pull weight, and not much weight added but times are based on biggest mod's to smallest mod's your talking split second's,exsust will help, take time off by bit if full and right stuff,,

That VS kit it definately making you go faster as it brings down the drag of the car :alien:

lol im not an idiot payya, i was only saying it had the bodykit on it so people could factor in the weight.

all bolted up:) took the FTO for a test and its alright its got a deeper exhaust note but dosent appear to have much more power if any....... i guess thats the supposed loss of torque.

still thinking about removing a resonator..... will that make the sound deeper? or will it stay the same and ill just get a burble?

gonna test car to 100kmph in a few mins

removing the main resonator (the one directly after the cat) will make significantly more noise. More raspy too but it wont be deeper.

Funnily I had the fujitsubo legalis on the car 2 years ago. Added extractors and high flow cat (deeper noise).

Changed the whole system to the Apexi N1 (much louder and deeper).

Removed the main resonator off the N1 system (much much louder).

From seat of the pants feeling, I thought that the fujitsubo had better low end response and the N1 is better up top. The biggest difference was from going manual IMO.

If the new exhaust is meant to give you more power you won't notice much under you bum as 10kw is not really noticeable.

Resonators stop resonance but increases the loudness at the same time. From experience they don't really deepen the note.

i seem to have less power....... 9.5 seconds to 100kmph with a 100kg person in passanger seat, sub box 35kg? veilside bkitextra 10kg?, 98 octane fuel, Custom CAI, Sheilded Pod filter, the exhaust system described. im pretty sure with the same person in the car last time i got 8 seconds to a hundred .........???????????

anyone know what the cause could be?

theres no heat wrap on the extractors that couldent make that much difference could it?

[edit] just had a look and the engine bay isnt too unusually hot so i dont think its that.

bushido you dont happen to be the guy with the youtube vid....?

just took it for a drive by myself without the rear muffler on and it was faster to 100, i didnt hit the stopwatch thing on my phone properly but it looked like 8.5 which is a step in the right direction..... when i was about to put the fujitsubo giken exhaust on there was a rattle inside it it sounded like something about 2kgs and felt like it when i rolled hte exhaust around..... thats where the problem is if it gains power from having it off yeah? because then there would be even less backpressure......

pretty sure its a blocked/collapsed rear muffler..... can anyone suggest a good rear muffler for me please.... LinKs please

Looking at getting a new or 2nd hand rear muffler as the one i have is fkd. probably a cannon because my exhaust system consists of a mandrel bent 2.5" pipe, cat, 2 resonators and extractors. o yea and its got a fkd fujitsubo giken rear muffler.(baffles have fallen in i think)

Any suggestions as to what i should get.... apexi n1 or somthing else??? and where to buy the exhaust.....

any ideas will be appreciated

how much did the CAT Back cost you?

Some good brands I know of for proper mufflers - not cannons ... Magnaflow, Genie

i know u were gonna sell me your system but i found another which turned out to be good with everything else it had with it but all the exhaust system including the extractors i got for $320 which is a bargain(the extractors are worth nearly this much) only thing is that it cost me $450 to get from nsw.

would i still get power gains from using the stocvk muffler with all this stuff on it? i mean i live the high pitch note if u wanted a rumble id get a v8. theres not much out there for the fto specifically i know brands are good but i want some1 who has put a certain exhaust on their car and reckons iot sounds sweet.

souinds like all that im gonna get in the way of cannons etc are high pitched mufflers or i can buy a proper fto echaust and im gonna pay through the nose for it>.... opinions?

I dont know but in the last picture it looks like the pipe is really thin that goes over the axle. and it has shonky welds. Mine had a fair few holes in the place that it goes over the axle and got a lot more power after i replaced that section.

yea silver gpx its pretty shonky welds but its still the same diamater pipe(obiously not stainless steel if its so rusted)
serial number on the rear muffler (fujitsubo giken) has the number 95... which would stand to reason that the exhaust was manufatured in 1995 making it 15 years old. and theres was a little rust in the pipe and something loose in the rear muffler.

took rear muffler to a backyarder and he is certain that 1 of the baffles has broken off inside the muffler (yes i know he is just a backyarder but who else am i going to go to on a saturday at 430 in the arvo....)

any suggestions on new mufflers?

[edit] under $500 would b good just for the rear muffler

yea i think theres an apexi on ebay but i think its gone it used to always come up when i typed fto in search
any other suggestions i dont wanna buy sh*t but im not gonna wait months

the guy i brought the system off fkd a piston so got me thinkin was it a result of too much pressure on the engine because of the rear exhaust being 'collapsed'

i really dont wanna choose a muffler at autobarn or supercheap i want somethign decent
