Hey guys been told that aftermarket stand alone ecus are illegal because u can change the air fuel ratios and change the emissions that the car produces. Now I have also been told buy the head guy at the mvr that NT does not have a emissions law, so does this make my microtech stand alone ecu legal.

Cheers Mitch

From what I hear it is like anything, if it aint got an engineers cert then it is illegal. In saying that I have never heard of anone getting done for it.

Illegal in NSW. I have to 'hide' mine according to my engineer, when he goes over the car. Nothing engine-managment wise can be adjustable. I have to hide my FPR as well.

I put my ECU in the glove box .. But put the AVC-R in the air con vent .. Had no idea it was illegal .. Ooops ...

I have heard of guys in Vic getting done for ECU's ... Cops look for the Air Flow Meter/Sensor .. If they don't see it, they ask where the aftermarket ECU is ... Some cops are educated...

lol ..

Just thinking about the FTO .. Have the Mivec controller as well.. Which technically would be illegal also cause it alters the performance of the car from the cockpit..

Yeah .. Some cars get away with it ... So you would be able to debate .. But just general rule they follow ..
