Reco is good if you can live without car for a few days?

there are two types of alt 4 pin for mivec, 2 pin for non mivec

suggest getting used one and then reco your old one so you have backup

Well i just got a hold of Mitsubishi and they said it would be $2000 for a new Alternator.. No thank you.. :P I got 1 quote for a Up to $325 to do it and another quote of up to $700 to do it..

Anyone else care to beat those prices at all? Queensland South East Brisbane.

Dstocks can get them brand new for less than that IIRC. but it depends on how desperate you are.

Alright ill give him a buzz.. Just spoke to some guys about getting the alternator out and they said they were unsure if it would be a big job or not because by the looks of it, its on the firewall.. Just curious, do you have to go through the drive shafts to get the alternator out?

takes bout 1.5hrs to swap over is a bit of prick of a job but not too bad esp if done before so allow about $150 labour plus alt cost

sure can need to remove alt and its bracket and belt tensioner, I also drop strut to allow room to squeeze past driveshaft tight fit but it will get through, as far as i can see may be able to get out from above but will need to remove manifold etc

also it should fit by removing why pipe from headers but more stuffing around than dropping strut

Alright well ill get the mechanic to do that for me.. :) He said that it would cost me up to $700 if he had to remove the driveshaft so ill let him know that it fits past the driveshaft

Thanks so much Vip
