Slicks anyone...

If you have 17x7 rims and would like to try a couple of slicks on the front at the dragstrip or a full set for a track day, give Peter or Gary a call at Gary's Motorsport Tyres in Arndell Park - 9676 8655. The have used Mini Challenge Dunlop slicks for $80 fitted! I bought a set out at EC on Friday for this weekends racing and they've still plenty of meat left on them. They've probably only done one race meeting. I'm hoping it'll be dry tomorrow so I can run these in our 1 hour race 8)

They are only available in one size and one compound though at this price, 215/17, so don't bother ringing them asking for all different sizes lol! Also obviously these aren't street legal so don't expect to drive up, get em fitted and drive away!

Also I have no affiliation with them, only stumbled across these myself a few weeks back. Just thought this might be of interest to some others on the forums 8)

PS: Be sure to double check them for condition and flat spots. One of mine was flat spotted but they replaced it no prob, otherwise they were all very good condition.

They would have been great if they had 225's or 235's
215's are just not right, to slim for me.
But that is a great find.

What size rims do you have? I'll check again today but these would probably fit from 6.5 to maybe 8 inch.

17 x 8's.
I just don't like the idea of streching 215 tyres onto my rims.

theyd be okay for drags, but nothing more... no flex in the sidewalls when theyre that stretched...

i got 7.5's and the 215's (i did have, now have 225) werent stretched at all, so i think on a 8 itd be okay, but i wouldnt do any circuit racing

Remember these are a slicks so completely different tyre build.

Anyway apparently these are good for anything from 7" to 9" rims, so you'd be fine with 8" rims aza. These guys are the Dunlop motorsport suppliers for NSW and are generally at every race meeting, so should know what they are on about.
