FTO AUSTRALIA

I wasn't sure where to put this one but here we go.

Mrs AJ drives a Mazda SP20 but its having trouble starting. The battery is fine. I've tested it with the engine off over night and while at idle and constantly get over 12.5v. When I turn the key though, it really struggles to get going. Would this be the starter motor? Any ideas?

hmm.. interesting one.. once it's been warmed up can you turn it off & back on without problems?

Does it struggle to turn over (as in slow roation) or does it turn over fine but just has trouble firing?

it struggles to turn over. Interior lights go dim etc.

bad earth maybe?

i think that can effect spark plugs, stalling , poor idle etc..

found this link, which may help pinpoint it .. still think bad earth wire is the best bet;

Pull the battery out of your fto and put it in the mazda if your unsure

grab some jump leads and try to jump the mazda off your fto.
