Noisy Tappets or what else?

Hi guys, sorry for being such a noob

Had my timing belt done last Friday due to massive oil leaks (rear rocker cover and cam seals).
If the timing belt is off by a cog or two, would the tappets make noises like this?
It was ticking before but not as loud as this.

yip tappets can also be leads or coil packs arcing on heads if wasnt making this noise before would say they havent connected rear leads into plugs correctly

Nope but really easy to fix you will feel the coils pulsing if them if leads just remove manfold and check leads to plugs connection if not them must be tappets

I'd be straight back to the shop that did the belt. Don't ask us, just go back & get them to fix it - as it wasn't making that noise before you left it there.

FYI, that is tappets, and because they've probably removed the cams & or cam caps to do the seals, they should have reset all the tappets on reassembly. Job not finished properly.

Or the timing is out which causes tappets to be noisier. But yeah they screwed it they should fix it.

I know what they are going to say. "oh that's normal. Drive for 1000km till the belt is run-in. Then the noise will go away" or they will blame on some other faults which has nothing to do with their work related to the car. Goodluck mate.

Spot on!!
When I asked him, how come the tappets are noisy, his response was it's common with Mitsubishi.
I then asked him if I need to adjust the tappets, he went 8O these tappets are hydraulics and aren't adjustable.

Maybe we should start a new threat - "Stay Away From These Mechanics" and make a list of all mechanics we have to avoid

Thanks for all your inputs guys. I'm gonna see him tomorrow and ask him to recheck everything.
