Hey guys..

Someone is quite keen on purchasing my car...They are from tasmania however and coming over and taking the car back to tasmania.

What is the process for selling the car to a interstate buyer?

I take it no RWC is needed anymore and all they need is a official recipt from me saying they have purchased the car from me and hte amount...and i take it unscrew the numberplates and take off the rego sticker before they take it?

cheers
Amacha

that should be covered with the change of ownership form's that both parties need to fill out. You can get them form your local RTA.

I thought that the form that Amacha needs to fill out is from the local RTA from Tasmania's side. because the form we have here is from VicRoads and it only covers Victoria only and not Tasmania. Why not give VicRoads a call and ask them what the porper procedure is.

no not from tasmaina. Then vic roads wouldnt transfer the vehicle to the new pwners name. But you are right in giving vicroads a call, that disroys all doubt ;)
