help guys i need some answer tonight i was cruising around and when i went to drive home i left with a mate he was behind me and we were flying up this street undercover pulled out behind him he slowed down i looked back he was way back so i pulled over to wait he drove past and copper pulled up behinnd me with lights he didnt no what speed i was doing and i wasnt admitting any thing i just said i dont no to every thing he asked so he said he did 120 to catch up to us couldnt get me on any thing else other then no spare he said he will send me a defect ( wasnt in cause i was sound proofing the boot ) but he said he is gona fine me for 80 in a 60 zone i asked if he could do that and he said they do a course to judge speed basicly by picking a point on the windsreen and maintaining a speed well there was my mate between me and him so he wouldnt have even been able to see my car and i dont think he had computer or video or any thing in his car so basicly hes got nothing but he said to my mate later when he tracked him down that if we take it to court he will make sure we lose it but he cant prove we were speeding what do you all think should i contest it or just take it and lose the 4 points and 200dollars but then ill only have 1 point left

Well personally I wouldnt be discussing this on a public forum, police know how to use computers too

Take it to court... I have a good traffic solicitor if you need him...

Except that doesn't stand up in court if you try to fight it. Who know, he can't prove that you just weren't waiting for your friend because he got stuck at some lights or something.

They have all of the equipment necessary to legally catch someone for speeding for a reason, it's necessary. He is trying to put the sh*ts up you to force you to cough; it won't stand up. Also, if you do take it to court you can push that the defect is against his judgement too.

And is it really illegal to have no spare wheel? I have seen many cars in your magazines without spare wheels and only having that tyre weld stuff (it's all I roll with).

Also for a cop to "judge" your speed, their speedo needs to have been calibrated .. Usually you can see a bright orange sticker on the speedo stating when this was last completed... Otherwise .. Pointless...

yeh they tried to do that a similar thing to a person from my work tomorrow

she was speeding and doing like 30k or so over the limit and then tried to book her for doing like 40 or so

when the cop pulled her over and told her how fast she was going she asked to see his speed reader thing and when she said it says she was only going 30k over he lowered the fine and the ammount of time she was going to lose her license for

dont know how much of this story is true though, it was just something i was told

yea well basicly we drove past his he we were around the corner befor he even pulled out ages from him he was stuck behind my mate bout a k back cause he droped back theres no way he could prove what speed we were doing and are they aloud to speed with out sirins in a unmarked car cause he said he did 120 in a 60 zone and befor thats a 50 zone and where he pulled out of is bout a k befor the corner so he would have had to gun that street to they tryed to get me to admit i was speeding but im not that stupid lol but no where on this forum have i stated i was speeding nor the speed at wirch i was going just what he thinks i was doing and what he was doing i just turn around and go how can u judge speed with a car between me and u at nght from over a k away its bullshit i dont care how good u are u cant tell what speed and we dont just gess i could say i was doing 40 he would have to prove other wise

ps he wanted to get me on street racng but he said he wont but he told me my car will be marked as one but he told my mate he wasnt going to cause then he would have had to take the car but its all bullshit a ftp wpi;d not win verse a statesman he would smash me its all bullshit every thing they said ay they got nothing they have me infront of my mate thats it
and he forgot to give me my licence back he drove off with it he gave it to my mate to give back to me i thought that was a bit dodgey to

haha thing is he said he would send the defect out to me by then the spare will be back in the boot lol i think i may need to talk to some one bout taking it to court and if its worth it cause every thing he did was dodgey ( speeding undercover car , tail gating my mate , no radar , no video , judging speed from a k away in the dark , he gave my drivers licence to my mate , later we saw him and he went fron the left lane to right lane on a round about no bliner and had hibeam on while we were standing on side of the road , every thing he did was dodgey didnt show his badge i dont think either

ps can they just serch your car cause he asked me to step out so i did then they asked if i had any drugs or any thing i shouldnt in the car and started serching it thought they need a warent to serch your car unless they ask and u say yes

At the end of the day mate (more common sense advice), if you do get the fine (and not even sure that you will), you COULD take it to court and PROBABLY WOULD get off because the case sounds pretty flimsy.

However, that DOESN'T excuse the fact that you clearly were speeding (probably racing) a mate along a suburban street at night. So maybe just learn a lesson from this, and go along with your mate to a track day next time instead.

thats the thing though we werrnt racing we had been cruising around with a bunch of people all night and every one was heading home so i was like u following and we left i no i would lose if i even tryed to race him thats what i told the cop to that his car would rape mine and i was in front yea he took mine and my mates mob numbers to any one no what thats bout ( he gona track us down and see if were behaving )
