Dash Lights

OK, hoping someone might have seen something like this before. The dash lights (dash illumination). I tracked this down to Fuse 8 which is under the dash and supposedly controls the following:
SRS ECU, combination meter, sunroof ECU, vehickle speed sensor, steering wheel sensor (TCL), buzzer-ECU, motor antenna assembly, voltmeter
Now the fuse itself seems fine and ive just thrown a multimetre on the fuse and im not getting a reading on either side of the fuse. Have also tried this on the fuse holder with th same outcome. This means that im not gettign any power to the fuse holder. Any idea where I should go from here (apart from an auto electrician)

Sorry to hijack your thread Dwayne, since you are talking about dash lights do you have any idea on the bulb size because I was planning to change the bulbs to a diffrent colour.

Nah, afraid not.
Oh and that fuse and all the other small ones in the engine bay are fine, so not that. Im wondering if its the dimmer for the cluster. As its a compliance mod, they may have wired it in before the fusebox.

42mm T10 bulbs from my investigation, I'm ordering some, so can't confirm 100% until I've fitted them.

It can be this, it obviously isnt getting power to the fuse box and dimmer is prob wired into the circuit before it so broken dimmer=cut in power hopefully or its the big trace back job

Guys, if you did a search, you'd find:
Main Dash Cluster bulbs are 5 x T6.5 for direct replacement. You CAN make T10's fit if you break the casing off and feed the legs through into the bulb holders from the front... just a tad fiddly is all.
Clock: 2 x T5 (break the casing off to get to the legs)
Aircon Buttons : 2 x T5 (break the casing off to get to the legs)
Volt Meter: 1 x T10
Ciggy Lighter: 1 x T5
Pm me if you have questions... rather than disrupting Dwayne's topic any further

You could just bypass the dimmer as well to rule it out.
