Hey guys, not sure if this is the right section to post but i will start here anyway.
Ive hidden in the shadows of these forums for long time and decided to create an account today cause i am in need of some help.
I am currently looking to buy an fto but i am stuck on 1 question.
Is it difficult to get parts for the fto if i am involved in a crash due to its 'grey import' status?
Many people have told me that since the manufacture of these cars have stopped it might be difficult in some cases.
I am located in Sydney if that is any help
Thanks in advance guys
Cheers

First thing WTTC

now for your Question. Some parts can be hard to get but with all the connections that some of the members have we can get almost any thing you need to fix the car.
We can get new parts made up from japan and sent over or there are second hand parts around as well.

WTTC mate
As Aza said we can get almost anything and if not here there is a huge base of these cars in NZ and UK

I had an incident a while back with a roo. Smashed up my bumper lights bonnet and a few other bits and pieces. But after a but of hunting through the forums here, another member came to me and offered me her written off FTO to help with parts. There are so many members here with random spares for ftos lying around, and then dstocks who buys wrecks and has a parts connection in japan. If you were to get a FTO and you every needed parts for anything, don't even worry about leaving your house to look, just jump on here first.
Oh, and WTTC!

Aza is right about connections... if you weren't a member here it could be nigh on impossible to source parts, but Dstocks here seems to hoard parts like they are going out of fashion
You are in safe hands, besides, if anything can't be sourced you can always get it fabricated
BTW, easy enough to get stuff from overseas these days too

I have pretty much 2 complete wrecks at present. Have front bars, rear bars, 3 or 4 different type of wings, quarters etc. Pretty stocked up at present. Can get practically any new part from Japan in a couple of weeks and can buy off Yahoo Japan (90 pages of FTO stuff (like Ebay).

Actually I've found for such a limited production run car (35,000 only ever made, worldwide!) that parts are surprisingly easy to come by.
Having said that, we have a great asset in dstocks!
And as the cars become cheaper and more hoons buy them, there seems to be a steady supply of wrecked cars to strip down and part off
