hey all, just a couple of really random questions.

1. Do splashguards fit onto the fto off a lancer, galant or any other?

2. My heater core is stuffed does any other heatercore fit from any other car.

3. Is it possible to make a "mivec light", like a light that comes on when it changes on the cam?

4. Where does everyone mount their HID ballasts?

5. Can you buy rocker cover gaskets for the fto in australia or do i have to go on camskill to get them?

6. If they are available in australia are they fto specific or are they the same as the galant etc?

7. Is the intake manifold gasket a steel or paper made unit?

8. Does powdercoating rims wreck them?

9. Can i used sparkplug seals from another car as well or do they have to be fto ones?

Get a shift light a set it to mivec point

4. Where does everyone mount their HID ballasts?
Usually behind front bumper under gaurd or in the engine bay or a combo of the both.....depends on how many other accessories you have really.

yes you can. Ask for HJ galant ones from supercheap etc or mitsi (from memory) arent that bad either as long as you dont mention the "F" word

Which one you talking about

Depends on what colout you powder coat lol

Not sure. I would bet the HJ galant ones would but you would have to check with someone who was caps

and wouldnt the ballasts maybe get wet under the guard or something?

and about the gasket i have no idea, the guy thats going to be adjusting my tappets and putting the gaskets in wanted to know as he might have to replace them.

and im powdercoating my rims black. ( I have a silver car) dunno if it will look good?

One more question what size bolts are the ones that hold the bumper on from underneath the car those 4 i think it is along the rail. Atm mines only held on by the four on the outsides.

5. GPX are different to GR which are same as HJ Galant so either get from mitsi OZ or Camskill

7. Thin steel one and doesnt need replacing unless broken (I have a spare or just use gasket goo)

9. Galant ones or any 6A series motor ones should be fine (cheap anyway from camskill but do believe mivec are different to GR)

smorrison had a computery thing in his that gave a digital read out percentage of how much throttle you were giving (ie 100% when full throttle etc) and it also had either "On" or "Off" when on or off MIVEC. i can't remember what it was called though, it was possibly a MIVEC controller...anyone know what I'm talking about?

And if you end up needing to go genuine on any of the gaskets etc, I may be able to get you better pricing as I can order them as well.

i got my gaskets of a nissan... think it was a bluebird or oldschool maxima

So im guessing that it being a GPX id have to get the fto specific mivec version of the sparkplug seals and rocker cover gaskets.

Not to my knowledge i think this heatore core is FTO specific....it is a much better unit than the one coming out on the lancers at the time..

easiest thing in this world to do....find the wire coming from the ecu that tells the ecu when its in mivec...and wire that up to a resistor than to a led light or be creative and make it say IM IN MIVEC!!

supercheap auto or mitsu...i got mine from mitsubishi for 54bux each

same as galant if your in victoria call chadstone mitsubishi guy is really awesome with imports!

Steel unit if your talking about the one at the very middle of the V6

Only if you want to remove the powdercoat afterwards...

id stick to fto one.s...they are common with the new lancers adn they cost something like 11 bux a seall genuine from mitsu.

I've got mine screwed to a blank area on each side of the engine bay. From memory, one is basically on the wheel arch, can't remember the other. I can take photos if you want.

So for the rockercover gasket it doesnt matter about the mivec, i just want to be certain. As the local parts store says he has them for 6A12 galant and FTO but he couldnt see anything about mivec.

and camskil i think has different gaskets for GR and GPX.
