soaring engine temps

lately my battery and engine temp gauges have been tripping out. seems to occur after a rainy day or when its cold

the battery gauge will slowly drop to below 10 and at the same time the temperature gauge will increase

once to the point where the needle on the temperature gauge went past the square (check on the gauge)

when the volt gauge starts to return to normal so does the temp gauge

anyone had the same problem or have a solution?

Could the battery terminals be lose somewhere ? thus short circuiting the water pump or radiator fans or something ?

Short circuiting the water pump??? You know its mechanical dont you?

Get a voltmeter on to your battery and verify the output
