235s will go onto a 9" rim fine. I've had 245's squeezed onto 8's before.

alrighty...if i may, can i ask you guys what you think best size tyre for a 17x9 is??

(sorry, first time iv really cared about the tyre's i'm buying so i don't know a WHOLE lot)

I think 235 may be a bit narrow for a 9" rim, 235's are a better fit on 8's. Varies a little from tyre to tyre though so if u know what tyre u want jump up on the manufacturers website and see if u can find some info. Also if u can show the manufacturer supports it then you shouldn't have any problem with any tyre shop.

245/255/265 are a better fit for 9's.

Is this going on an FTO? That's a big wheel for such a lightweight car. Will look great if you can fit em under the guards though :)

Yeah, its going on my fto, first set of tyre's iv bought for it lol. (thus me caring about what tyre's etc..)

Yeah, they should..iv fit 18x9's with a 30 offset on it before, sat about 3 cm out of the guards, probably the meanest look iv seen on an fto lol.

well im runnin 225 on 19x8, an it just fits, an no scraping problem, so i think 235 would b good too, u plannin to go 235/35 or 235/40?

Well, after reading your post, leaning towards 235/35, less of a chance of scraping?

It's your best bet, they should also trial fit a couple of different sizes if you ask nicely, then you can see for yourself what you are getting
