URGENT: Lost only set of FTO Keys
Posted: Tue Jan 26, 2010 12:30 pm
Hey im new to this club but have an urgent query and was hoping i could get some assistance.I searched the forums but couldnt find what i was looking for.
The following is an email i sent to Mitsubishi Aus, with no luck.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated =]
Hello,
I have lost the only set of keys to my 1995 Mitsubishi FTO.
I have made several calls and obtained some information though require further assistance and require information from Mitsubishi Japan.
VIN: 6U9000DE3A0021720
I require a new key so i can enter and start my car.
I contacted one of the Misubishi Dealers.
They said that they can only order a Key with a barrell.
This will then need to be fitted by their service department.
They then assumed that the 1995 FTO has a transponder? Does anybody know for sure?
The problem then is that they require a Security number to deactivate the immobilizer. I have been informed that this is a 4 digit number which is will be the same for all Mitsubishi FTO's.
What i require is this 4 digit number.
Ideally i would like a key to be sent out to me from japan that will be able to start the ignition without all the additional mucking around, however i do not speak Japanese, nor do i know how to get in touch with the Japanese head office. I have been informed that with the VIN Mitsubishi Japan should be able to provide me with a key that will be start the ignition without having to replace the barrell.
Could you please contact me on 0421025458 or reply with the required information as soon as possible.
The cheapest and easiest solution would be if you could get in touch with Mitsubishi Japan and they send out a key which matches that VIN.
If not, i require the 4 digit security code to reset the engine immobilizer- as mentioned above, i have been this is generic for all Mitsubishi FTO's.
Also if possible i would like an email address which corresponds to Mitsubishi Japan, so i can continue my own inquiries.
Note: My car is parked in an unsecured location thus if you could attend to this matter as soon as possible this would be greatly appreciated.
Yours thankfully,
Chris
