before i get told to search, i did, and threads didnt answer my question.
ive got an advanced driver training course tomorrow and in an email they sent out it said to inflate your tyres to 40 psi on the day. this seems ridiculously high. from the other threads ive read people have said between 32 and 36 psi is normal.
is it even safe to have my tyres at 40 psi? (stock rims btw)

For the day set them to 36 front and 34 back.

that seems logical
but i don't get why they say this
Please ensure that your cars tyres are inflated to 40psi BEFORE you arrive at
the venue, (do it the night before) as there are no facilities to do this on the
day. It is very important that this is done and the importance of this will be
explained to you on the day.
(If you normally run 40psi or more, just turn up with your normal pressures.)

If thats what they've specified then I say you do exactly as they ask. They must be recommending 40psi for a reason.

When I did my one with Ian luff we where told 36 and 34, but they may want more due to heavy breaking.
But if you want put 38 in the front and 36 back.

put it to 40 as they said, worst case you can always let some air out if it's too much.
there's gotta be a reason why they asked you to do it.

yip and all depends on you tyre size too
so if your running 40-45 series tyres 40 is pretty much spot on anyway
