Heya

I have a bit of a problem and was wondering if anyone can help... there is a problem with the car doors .. the dash light and interior light won't turn off when the doors are closed. i know the problem isn't a fuse as I have just had all of the terminals fixed the other day so I'm running out of options. I'm stuck with disconnecting my battery so that it doesn't drain the power!!!

Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be awesome.

I had this problem.
Was not cheap to fix, I believe $250 fixing half the interior wiring harness.

Some bad grounding from dodgy prev owner.

Alternatively, check the strikers are actually engaging,/ not stuck, broken, etc.
Hopefully it's just that.

eeek i hope its not the wiring!

i did think about the strikers but haven't been able to locate a new one to check if that is the problem. it's weird though because the beeping stops once the door is closed, but the lights don't go off.

The bits on the body that the doors lock on to need adjusting, make sure you really tighten them up when you do, otherwise they will move again

This ^^

Or check the strikers mounted on the inner door sill. Pull the rubber boots off them & check they are lubed up sufficiently. Prefferably squirt some graphite power into them, alternatively, a quick hit of WD40 will do it, don't drown them in it thou.
