So my car is currently at my local mechanic and I'm waiting on a phone call to see what needs to be done to get this RWC. When I purchased the car a couple of days ago, the seller had a RWC which was done two weeks ago but seeing I'm in a different state, that sh*t doesn't count and I've got to get one here in VIC. The only things I think that will need to be replaced is possibly the windscreen because they are soo f****** picky with that and the headlight which i fixedthe bracket today but they may notice

So this leaves me with some spare cash before my pockets are empty.

The car is completely stock apart from the D-cuartro body kit, coilovers, and exhaust. So there is still some performance upgrades which I will undertake in the near future but for now, I want to get the body sorted.

The current colour of the car is Pyrenees Black and needs some work. The roof is well faded. Same with the spoiler, both fenders have fade marks, the bonnet and doors have some scratches and side skirts need a good touch up.

Now comes to fun part of getting quotes!

Couldn't agree more, iv had friends that have paid for cheap jobs, and the work has reflected in the work.

Pretty cheap in my opinion, but i could be wrong, if you do choose to get that, be sure to let us know how it goes, interested to hear how it goes.

For the faded parts on your car, id suggest getting a good cut n polish job done on them first, i had some fading and scratches on my lancer, but i got a mate with a buffer to cut n polish it for me, got rid of it, fading, scratches, the lot.

Reminds me of a company that was in Sydney a while ago .. 1 Day Auto Paint...

They would paint the car in 1 day ... But they masked around door locks, badges and everything else... Never knew anyone to use them ...

Good re-spray of the same colourin Sydney is going to cost 5k plus...

To take it back to bare metal in Sydney and change colour, is going to cost 9k plus...

For a good quality respray in qld your looking at 2.5-3K. For a colour change4.5-7K. Bare metal 8k +++

Well I called them up and they said for $699 they will do any colour even a colour change!
For $699, I'm going to give it a try and see what happens. If I get a decent quality job, I may just save $3000 haha.

Looking to get this done within the next month, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Sheesh, the cheap re-spray idea is a real selling point for them...

For all we know, this could be like the panel beating form of a sweat shop ... Skilled workers from O/S being paid bugger all, but the chance to live in a better country ..

So, it could actually be a good spray job ... I however, would not really want to take that risk with my FTO ...

I'd get them to spray the trailer I'm building.
In the end it's only a trailer.

I had a more in depth chat on the phone. If there is any body damage on the car such as small dents or if the body isn't properly alligned, they will charge extra to fix that up (expected). Also, if you have rust spots, they charge extra to treat that.

I have rust spots on my roof which i will sand out and treat myself. I also have a very minor dent on the bonnet which I only noticed yesterday while I was washing the car. I'll pop that out myself.
The rear bumper also needs to be alligned a little better and same goes with the skirts (previous owner didn't do a very good job). That should be an easy fix also.

I'll bring a bunch of tools with me and strip it myself cause I don't want none of that taping over stuff bullshit they do with these cheaper spray jobs haha.

So yeah, If I can save a huge amount, I'd be happy with that because being only 18 and still a student, my budget can't be stretched too far at this point in time.

I'm willing to take the risk and I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Also, I'm trying to get my hands on a de cuatro front bar before I go in to get the sprayed so if any of you guys know where I could pick one up for a reasonable price, thatd be sweet.

Also, may get one from dstocks, see what happens anyway. Gotta see what money I have left after I have vic roads inspect the car and it's transferred under my name (They are doing a high risk inspection because the car has no import or compliance plates! lol)

With the roof rust, make sure you remove the glue causing the roof rust! otherwise it will just come back again!

oh wow, $600 for colour change... wonder if they have pearlescent paint

im goign to give them a call and sus this out, ill go ahead after we see how your re spray goes
