Been meaning to test this for a while to see how much difference the Haltech made, so set the trip meter a couple of days ago and when I filled up this morning I got the figures. This is mostly highway cycle with a little bit of city traffic thrown in for good measure and includes 2 trips up and down the Clyde mountain pass.

11.25 km/litre
8.9 l/100km
and if you assume a 60 litre tank, this is 675 km on a tank of fuel.

Have to say im happy with that. My guess at 20% better fuel economy with the Haltech was pretty much on the money.

Thats pretty sweet...in the long run will save quiet a bit on fuel.

by the way, what fuel are you using in your test?

thats bloody good for a ~15 year old car! my zuk does that on a 2 year old 4 pot and they rekon (smh motoring)new cars are 50-80% more fuel economic than cars built 10 years ago

To be fair, mines only 10 yrs old (99 model). Before, I was getting over 500 per tank, but im finding that as well as the fuel economy gain, the engine is now running much smoother as well. And putting out 133 KW ATW. Couldnt be happier. The guys in Queanbeyan that fitted it have done a great job on the tune.

That's a nice improvement there mate! It'll pay for itself pretty quickly!

Wonder if it'd be similar improvement if we're already getting that sort of distance out of a tank....

Quick Interceptor related question. What harness do they use to plumb them into the FTO? Is it the universal one? And they now have FTO base maps on file at Haltech dont they?

and yes they now have a base map for the FTO or you can use my map as a base map and tune from that.

I did a test on the last tank and I came out with this = 42.4L used over 484.8Ks mixed between city driving 35% aprox, 25% spirited hill climbs aprox and 40% highway.

works out to be 8.7L to the 100Ks I am happy with that

Sorry can't say as I never let it get down that low for the light to come on, I always fill up when it gets to the 1/4 tank line.

I get 300km to a tank i fill up with premium and that is around 140 a litre in Darwin lol

Yeah but I do have the twin turbo motor in it. Will see if it gets better with the new ecu

Man, my bog standard car gets an easy 7.7L/100km on open country road driving. Thats a theoretical 780km to a tank.

I obviously need more power.

sounds right I reckon would push around 700 for a tank on open road (Not very stock) but prob only gonna get around 450 on this tank of only city driving but been giving it a bit of stick while air temp a bit cooler
