Hello all.
First off would just like to introduce myself. My name is Peter and I live in Melbourne.
I would also like to say how great this forum is in regards to info about the FTO. Everyone on here seems very knowledgable on pretty much every aspect of the vehicle. I do have a querie if anyone can help me. My FTO is a GS 96 model 1.8L. I can't seem to find a lot of info on it. It seems not many of them came into Australia. I have had it for nearly 2 years now and it runs like a dream, I have never had any issue with it. But I do want to know that if anything does go wrong if there are parts readily available.
Also, if anyone knows of any good servicing centres in Melbourne as i have been servicing it at Midas but i think it's time to go with a little more expertise. The car is at 88k at the moment so I would need a good place in the future for the major 100k service.
Any info on these topics would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

There is a thread in the Vic section with some recommended workshops. Your car shares engines with the CE Lancer GLXI so you will have less trouble finding parts than the rest of us.

Hello and welcome,

If you have any problems or need parts for your GS then you shouldn't have too much problems getting help as the 1.8L is the same one used in the Lancer and is quite common.
