I can’t decide whether to remove the wing or leave it... How about you guys did you ever go through this before? What are the pro and cons of the wing? I know is a matter of personal choice but what do you thing looks better. Can you have any pics of your FTO without the wing ?

Wing:

I think it gives the overall appearance of the car a slightly more aggressive feel as the rear seems that bit higher and gives the illusion of greater lines leading to the nose... There are a few cars in the gallery with no wing.

Here are some FTO's that are wingless

But I reckon you need at least aftermarket side skirts to make it work IMO

My personal opinion (aesthetics-wise)...

Stock wheels and suspension - wing (Version R is best, once again IMO)

Lowered suspension and deep-dish rims - no wing  This is the direction I'm taking.

like stated, dewinged looks good with side and a decent low ride hieght.

i was dewinged for two weeks and it looked wrong even though my fto was lowered + 17's. it made the rear end look allot shorter and higher compared to the rest of the body. but ive seen allot of dewinged ftos that i like, it just never suited the look of my car.

I took my standard one off to put the VR spoiler on.... and ended up never doing it. Still got it sat in the shed, never even been painted.

My advice? Take your spoiler off and live with it for a day to see what you recon. Few bolts, and a bit of a jiggle to break the seal. If you're worried about it raining, a few bits of masking tape to block up the holes.

Took the wing off today, cleaned the entire wing up.

Ever so glad to have it back on the car.
it looked so bad IMO.
Specially from the back, but we have stock wheels on

the key is to have side skirts and the right bodykit for wing off to work, have seen a few done really well and slightly lowered looks smick as, but unless moded and lowered wing off looks wierd.. 8)

I have seen a few fto's that looked good without a wing, but more often than not, it doesnt seem to work. This is because the rear looks higher and maybe the wheels dont match.

Pro: makes the car look much smoother and cleaner lines
Con: Don't expect stability above 160km/h :P

Now, see that is just to much of a con.
Seriously people, as a safety warning, they should put that as a sticker on the wing!
Unacceptable risk in my opinion

:P

FTO with a GT wing looks the best IMO, as long as the wing is at a reasonable height / style

Well when I get my second FTO, I'll stick a VR spoiler on that. That way when I leave the house, I can decide if I want to go with or without today :P

Spoiler: Sporty
No Spolier: Slick
