I'm planning to get either the Funky Products FTO Dial Kit - White/Red or White/Blue. Just curious as to whether i need to change the stock dial lights or that the dial kits glow blue or red over the stock lights?

From what i gather the dial kits already glow with the existing LEDs. Differnt parts glow diff colours

But i think that if u change the Leds it might be brighter..... not sure yet.

hey jester, yeah thats what i thought. But i'll look into it more, cos otherwise its a gonna be bitch to change the dial ights.

All the numbers, markers and logos on the dial kits are transparent and are lit up at night time by your dash lights.

At night time it has a similar look to reverse EL dials.

Your standard dash lights will work fine, however they can taint the look a little due to their yellowish colour. Personally I have replaced all my dash globes with white LEDs, which give a nicer colour.

ruchi, how did u go about changing the led's to white ones? Did u do it urself or did u get someone to do it for u?

aarrgghh!!!! OK, we've got about 4 or 5 seperate threads on this topic now...

There will be a guide coming out on this, but Steve needs to finalise a few things first and needs time to breath too (he's a little busy at the moment).

Sometime over this weekend, probably tomorrow or Sunday, I will take a photo of my dash and provide some basic info such as the LEDs you require and some of the tricks to get this to work.

I will start a new topic in the styling thread so as to centralise this information, maybe Steve can make it a "sticky topic" too so we can have just one thread on this topic.

To answer your question, yes I did it myself, but there's a number of tricks!
