can you access it from above, or from under the car?? do all manual g/boxes have a whiring sound when driving?
it sounds totally different to my son's tip box car.

can access at top when filters are removed.
can also access from bottom when the car is jacked up.

this is whenever its driving through the gearbox, no noise when coasting, so it must be from the box. i never drove a manual fto before so i don't know how they sound.

I'm havining similar thoughts, Col. I recently changed over from a tiptronic FTO to a manual one. There are a few gearbox related noises which are worrying me.
