Car Care advice?

I have a black FTO & am finding it hard to keep it looking good through winter! I wash it and the next day its back to looking like it hasn't been washed in a year! (yes i know thats just something that i have to live with especially in Tassie & with a black car) but I find that the paint loses its shine quickly, i'm guessing its because i'm washing it a couple of times a week to keep it looking partway decent!
So i'm wondering if anyone can recommend some good products to use to make it a) easier to clean on a weekly basis & b) help it keep it's shine longer?
Thanks

Do you just use water or after washing do you wax it ? Because if you do wax it thoroughly, there is no reason the shine shouldnt last for at least a week (obviously depending on what kind of roads you drive on and how often)

dont use just water... the water.. they do nothing!
you need to use water and car wash shampoos like armour all car wash(the blue stuff) or something like that , with a sponge. wax beads water but not sure about how good that is with extreme dusty times.

Armorall is god,
for both interior and exterior.
My car looks brand new thanks to it...

Yeah, the black ones are hard I know. And the answer is to put in the elbow grease. Wax! I don't do it every time after I wash her, but once a month keeps her looking nice. The dirt just doesn't stick as much.
They may be harder to keep clean, but the black paint shines like a mirror when you do it right!

say you one just does not have that much time on their hands, would armorall wash&wax be a good use or is there some reason why the armorall wash only would be better ? its just annoying these days, it just rains more than before, plus the fact that im waiting for my friend to hook me up with some techwax 2.0 for $25...

Hi all,
thanks for the advice! i usually go to one of the self service car washes down here (the ones with the high preassure whatsies & bubble brushes) only i usually just take a sponge & do the bubble bit by hand (cos the brush scratches the crap out of the car)!
Then once a month i would usually give her a wax! I think maybe i was using a not so great product or something though because it seemed that the car would be back to being quite dull after a wash.
Anyways to get to the point after reading your comments re: Armorall & wax etc i went into a local car goods retailer who advised me to use Maguires wet look wax for dark cars! (Expensive but apparetly well worth it) I did the car a couple of days ago now & will probably wash later in the week! but so far so good! it doesn't appear to be anywhere near as bad as it usually would by this stage so hopefully it holds the shine after its first wash!
Thanks Again for the help
