Any one know how I can stop my DVD on my PC from locking on a region? It says I have 3 tries left before it locks. It's a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-216 ATA.
Thanks.

I use DVD43: http://www.dvd43.com/

It just runs in the background and doesn't need you to do anything. You put the DVD in and it'll do the rest.

It also gets round the encryption on a dvd if you want to legally back up a copy of your own dvd for your personal library *cough*

regions on dvds are retarded when so many people legally own dvds from different regions.. does anyone know the purpose of it as i'm not sure how it would even stop piracy and the like it just seems to limit those who have a need to switch between regions to watch their dvds

Cool. Thanks for the tips, I'll try them this weekend.
Another issue I'm having is running an .exe file. I get an error message that says "Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your systems administrator."
I'm running Vista and have only had the PC about 3 weeks. The .exe file works at work (XP) but not at home...
Any ideas? Thanks!

hmmm... What is it? Office install?

Is it just a .exe file by itself, or is it in a .zip/.rar file, or in a folder with other files?

How are you transferring from the XP machine to the Vista machine? Something's gone missing in the move which the installer can't find. Possibly corrupted .exe

Res, office. Using a memory stick to take from work to home. It's in a folder with other things but it's not zipped. It's strange how it works on one but not the other. I've taken it off the memory stick at home and tried to install from the desktop with no luck either...

No luck yet? Only thing i can think of is there's some needed temp files on the original machine that it's trying to access.
