FTO AUSTRALIA

Hi there, my FTO GPX is running terribly sometimes i just got the error code extracted today. Engine light flickers on after warming up the car when i get to traffic lights and stop and idle. Exhaust makes a rough brup brup like a rotary. Then takeoff is noisy and slow.
Then every now and then say 15min later it goes away!!
Error code 41 ïnjectors was extracted.
The workshop said they had a gto in there recently that had that problem and they had the ecu sent away to be cleaned and fixed and that solved the problem, sounds expensive, anyone got input on this for me?

Sure they didn't get it ass about? Ie; error code 14 - TPS sensor?

nup was definately 41

and confirmed 41 was injectors.

I'd probably start by changing out the fuel filter, then check the pump, then look into getting the injectors cleaned out (it can be a pricey operation.)

I'm wondering if while they are doing that is it easier and since they r doing stuff to the engine that tappets could be adjusted at the same time? What would u guess the cost would be to get those things done roughly inc labour? Just so when i get a quote i know if im getting ripped or not..
I don't have time to play around with the car myself atm

Id clean the fuel filters, fill up with a tank of 98 octane and put a bottle of STP injector cleaner in...

for a start anyway... failing that clean the injectors out, which isnt a major job, but if youll do it yourself youll need a set of intake gaskets

I've got a new fuel filter and have it booked in to get done on monday.
If that fails i'll get the workshop to look at the injectors i can't be bothered doing anything with it atm.

You can get at the front bank IIRC by just removing the tea tray. If you can get a loan set its maybe worth swapping these ones over first just to see if it makes any difference?

if you need new injectors i can take the set out of my poked motor... of course they wont be new...

doesn't worry me, long as they are in better nick than the current ones, PM me with a price and postage to 2452 when you get a chance should know whats going on when i get fuel filter done monday.

If your taking it to a mechanic why not ask them WTF is wrong with it, and not tell them to change the fuel filter and if that fails look at the injectors?

I would say its a fuel related issue but it could be anything!
